10th Edition of the International Religious Tourism Workshops

On June 23rd, the 10th edition of the International Workshops on Religious Tourism was held in Fátima, promoted by ACISO and with the collaboration of the Municipality of Ourém, the Municipality of Guarda, the Sanctuary of Fátima, Turismo do Centro and Turismo de Portugal. The Caminhos de Fátima Association (ACF), as well as the vice-president of the ACF, Natálio Reis, were present at this initiative, which is already a benchmark for debate and future prospects in the field of best practices in the promotion of religious tourism.

The 10th edition of the International Workshops on Religious Tourism brought together religious tourism professionals from various countries, with Jordan being the guest of the event. As well as talking about the specific case of religious tourism in Jordan, the 2023 World Youth Days were also a topic of special focus.

Looking at current religious tourism, the focus was on how we should see it in the future, not only from the perspective of the Paths of Fatima, but also from the various routes of the Paths of Santiago.

During the event, a Madonna of Fatima was presented to the Shrine of Fatima with a cloak embroidered with doves and the flags of the various participating countries, in a gesture that symbolizes unity around this very relevant theme, which combines faith and the sharing of experiences.
