On your way to Fátima, visit the Shrine of Our Lady Help of Christians.

The Caminho do Centenário, which begins in Vila Nova de Gaia and ends in Fátima, passes through Anadia, a genuine municipality that combines past, present and future. Anadia is a “Land of Passions” that lives in communion with nature. It is also a land of vineyards, wines and sparkling wines, unique and ancient gastronomic traditions and unique and breathtaking places. On the way to Fátima, in Malaposta (Anadia), we recommend taking a short detour off the IC2 road (about 750 meters) to visit the National Shrine of Our Lady Help of Christians, located in Mogofores.

This Catholic church, created by the Salesians of Don Bosco, was inaugurated in May 1963. At the top of the church is a four-meter-high statue of Our Lady Help of Christians, flanked by two stone angels.

Next to the church is a forty-meter-high tower with eight bells, a clock, four dials and a viewing platform. The interior of this sanctuary, which St. John Bosco is said to have seen in his visions, presents a harmonious combination of colors and light that invites you to recollection and prayer.
