Os Caminhos

Caminho do Centenário starts in Vila Nova de Gaia and ends in Fátima, after 212 km. This route was created to take pilgrims off the national road and enable a safe journey on secondary roads. O Caminho do Centenário also aims to encourage pilgrims to come into contact with the cultural, natural and gastronomic heritage.
Starting from Coimbra, the Rota Carmelita is an invitation to reach the Sanctuary of Fátima on a 111 km route. The route offers the walker safer and more comfortable stretches, as well as a chance to discover the territory. The chapels that adorn the route and the historical sites are good reasons to experience the Rota Carmelita.

Caminhos de Fátima

The Caminhos de Fátima Association (ACF) was born out of the will of 14 municipalities – Vila Nova de Gaia, Santa Maria da Feira, São João da Madeira, Oliveira de Azeméis, Albergaria-a-Velha, Águeda, Anadia, Mealhada, Coimbra, Condeixa-a-Nova, Soure, Pombal, Leiria and Ourém – who wanted to create an alternative route for pilgrims, with better safety conditions.

“Put your backpack on your back and hit the road, walking these routes that take you to the Shrine, letting yourself be absorbed by all the transformative experiences that these routes provide,” invites Pedro Pimpão, President of the Caminhos de Fátima Association.
